GOOD DEED DELIVERY
Delivering Donations To Area Charities
PLEASE LOG ON TO www.Gooddeeddelivery.com for more info
I've been working, volunteering, reporting on and writing about Highland Lakes Nonprofits for more than a decade. There are so many wonderful people willing to support and donate to the nonprofits in our community who support people, animals and other organizations. However, I know as well as anyone, that goods that are intended to be donated sit in storage units, garages, closets and other areas of our homes and businesses, never making it to the intended destination. Dealing with yard, garage and estate sales leftovers can be daunting; so I'm launching "Good Deed Delivery," where by appointment, and for a minimum fee (to help cover fuel, insurance and vehicle maintenance), we'll come load your donation and take it to the local nonprofit of your choice.
We ask that you have your donations boxed and bagged, ready to go and near the loading area; or you can schedule help (through me) to come help you pack things up prior to the scheduled pick up. Flat fee pays for pickup appointment and loading; and appointments need to coincide with when charities are accepting donations. There are no mileage fees, no fuel fees, no loading fees. I charge a flat fee, listed below. If you need help packing prior to pickup, crew members charge $10 per hour, per person, with a two hour minimum. Payment for all services are due at time of service. Currently, we're accepting checks and cash only.
Serving the Highland Lakes, our territory includes Marble Falls, Granite Shoals, Kingsland, Buchanan Dam, Burnet, Smithwick, Horseshoe Bay, Applehead, Llano Proper and out Hwy. 71 to Hollingsworth Corner.
We will provide tax receipts upon request from the charity you choose, mailing it to you after we deliver your donation. Local nonprofits include Hill Country Humane Society, Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center, any of the Library Thrift Stores, Living Love Animal Rescue, The Helping Center, LaCare, Goodwill, Camp Peniel, Phoenix Center, CASA, Boys & Girls Club of America, Open Door Recovery, Disabled American Veterans, Hill Country Cats, area Lions Club, Non-Profit Lodges, Area Food Banks, Area Churches, 4-H and Booster Clubs, Area VFW's and more (see 'Links' page for choosing a charity. Contact me if you would like to be added to the links page).
If we get to a nonprofit and they reject something from your donation, we will offer it to other organizations at no cost to you. Please note donations need to be in good condition, working order and clean.
Currently, we cannot accept appliances or electronics, but hope to in the future. We do not haul trash or make trips to landfills.
I'll try my best to keep fees low, but if gas prices climb, I may have to make fee adjustments in the future.
